ISLAMABAD (Khyber Mail): UK-based company Delivery Associates has made a commitment to enhance bilateral cooperation with Pakistan, focusing on mutual strategic goals and sustainable economic development. During a meeting with Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb in Islamabad, Founder & Chairman Sir Michael Barber expressed this dedication.
Sir Michael Barber commended Pakistan’s Federal Budget for 2024-25 and the structural tax reforms implemented by the country. Acknowledging the inherent challenges, he engaged in discussions about priority areas within Pakistan’s homegrown economic plan.
Reaffirming their commitment, Sir Michael emphasized continued support for Pakistan, building upon previous collaborative efforts. The Finance Minister outlined key government priorities, including tax reforms, energy sector improvements, and the restructuring of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs).
Within the framework of the IMF program, structural reforms were underscored, with initiatives aimed at boosting exports, attracting Foreign Direct Investment, and advancing privatization efforts. The government’s focus on export-led growth and the digitalization of the Federal Board of Revenue further demonstrates its commitment to transparency and broadening the tax base.
