Karak (Khyber Mail): In a significant move to advance research and foster industry collaboration, Khushal Khan Khattak University Karak (KKKUK) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Geological Survey of Pakistan. The formal signing ceremony took place in Islamabad on Wednesday, with Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naseer Ud Din, Vice Chancellor of KKKUK, and Dr. Sajjad Ahmad, Director General of the Geological Survey of Pakistan, officiating the event.

The ceremony was attended by several notable officials, including Dr. Ghani Ur Rehman, Registrar of KKKUK; Dr. Muhammad Zubair, Director of the Office of Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC); Dr. Nazir Ur Rehman, Head of the Department of Geology; and Afrasiab, Manager of ORIC.

The MoU outlines a framework for collaboration between the two institutions, encompassing joint research projects, industry and academic partnerships, student internships, staff training, and exchange visits for faculty, students, and staff. Additionally, the agreement includes plans for organizing joint seminars and conferences.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Naseer Ud Din expressed his gratitude to Dr. Sajjad Ahmad and the Geological Survey of Pakistan for their support, emphasizing the importance of this partnership for KKKUK, especially given its remote location. He also acknowledged the efforts of the ORIC Directorate and the Geology Department in facilitating the MoU.

Dr. Sajjad Ahmad welcomed the KKKUK team and assured them of the Geological Survey of Pakistan’s full support under the terms of the MoU. He highlighted the potential benefits of this collaboration for both institutions and the broader scientific community.

This partnership marks a significant step forward for KKKUK in its mission to promote research and the commercialization of research products, enhancing its role in the academic and industrial landscape of Pakistan.
