RAWALPINDI (Khyber Mail): The Pakistan Army has announced the promotion of several senior officers to the rank of Lieutenant General, assigning them to key strategic roles to enhance operational efficiency.
The newly promoted officers are:
Lt. Gen. Ahsan Gulrez – Appointed as the Commander of 2 Corps in Multan. He was previously the Director General of Joint Staff (DG JS).
Lt. Gen. Arshad Naseem – Assumes the role of Surgeon General, taking charge of military health services.
Lt. Gen. Amir Najam – Continues as Chief Instructor at the National Defence University (NDU), focusing on advanced military education.
Lt. Gen. Tabbasum Habib – Named the new Director General of Joint Staff (DG JS), responsible for strategic coordination across military branches.
Lt. Gen. Hassan Khattak – Takes on the responsibilities of Quarter Master General (QMG), overseeing logistics and supply management.
Lt. Gen. Azhar Waqas – Elevated to Adjutant General (AG) in Rawalpindi, managing personnel policies, welfare, and human resources.
