Nowshera (Agencies): In a significant ruling by the Peshawar High Court, Sadaf Iqbal, who had applied for the Primary School Teacher (PST) position via ETEA in 2021, has been reinstated to the recruitment list after initially being excluded due to a documentation issue. Iqbal scored 51 out of 100 on the test and secured a total aggregate of 111.22, achieving the top position in her Union Council Anzari, District Nowshera.

The District Education Officer (DEO) for females in Nowshera had previously removed Iqbal’s name from the list, citing that she submitted a computerized marriage certificate after the required date, thus disqualifying her from the appointment. However, the court, upon accepting Iqbal’s writ petition, ruled that her marriage took place in 2011, and her National Identity Card also reflected her husband’s name from the same year. The court noted that while the rules did not mention a computerized marriage certificate requirement, an advertisement condition existed.

The court stated that submitting the marriage certificate after the deadline should not deprive Iqbal of her right to the position. The court directed the department to issue recruitment orders and count her seniority from 2021. The case was represented by Advocate Faheem Ullah Akhunzada on behalf of Iqbal.
