Islamabad (Khyber Mail): The OxfordAQA School Leaders’ Conference brought together a diverse group of educational leaders, policymakers, and academic experts in the capital city to explore cutting-edge strategies in teaching, learning, and assessment.

Special Secretary for the Ministry of Federal Education & Professional Training, Mohyuddin Ahmad Wani, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing the pivotal role of innovation in reshaping education. “The OxfordAQA School Leaders’ Conference presents a unique opportunity to unite the brightest minds in education. As we chart a way forward for modern education, it’s essential to prepare students for the future while reshaping practices to meet the demands of an ever-changing world,” he remarked.

Wani highlighted the government’s commitment to education reform, revealing initiatives such as the development of a modern curriculum, the establishment of high-tech classrooms in Islamabad, and the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the Federal Board to enhance public school standards.

Themed Innovation in Teaching and Learning, the conference featured esteemed speakers, including Andrew Coombe, Managing Director of OxfordAQA International Qualifications, and Walid Mushtaq, CEO of Roots International Schools and Colleges.

In his opening remarks, Arshad Saeed Husain, Managing Director of Oxford University Press Pakistan, stressed the importance of collaborative leadership and the integration of global and local best practices. “Education must be relevant to the learner. At OxfordAQA, we ensure a synthesis of global and local resources to achieve the right balance,” he stated.

Salma Adil, Director of OxfordAQA Pakistan, reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to equipping students with future-ready skills, while Amanda Ingram, Director of Exams at the British Council Pakistan, celebrated the successful delivery of the inaugural OxfordAQA January 2025 exam series.

The conference underscored a shared commitment to advancing educational standards in Pakistan, leveraging innovation and collaboration to prepare students for a dynamic future.
