KARAK (Khyber Mail): The closing ceremony of the 4th Dosti Peshawar Literature Festival (DPLF) 2025, Karak Chapter, took place on February 21st at the old campus of Khushal Khan Khattak University Karak (KKKUK), marking the successful conclusion of the four-day event held from February 18th to 21st. The ceremony was graced by the presence of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naseer Ud Din as the chief guest.
In his address, Prof. Dr. Naseer Ud Din lauded the organizers for their efforts and assured them of full support for future events of this nature. Registrar Dr. Ghani Ur Rehman, faculty members, administrative officers, students, and other distinguished guests also participated in the ceremony.
Dr. Muhammad Shafi, the keynote speaker at the closing ceremony, delivered an insightful address highlighting the philosophy of Ghani Khan’s poetry. He also passionately advocated for the establishment of a Pashto department at KKKUK, urging the Vice Chancellor to consider the proposal.
The 4th DPLF proved to be a vibrant celebration of literature, poetry, and the arts, effectively promoting harmony, friendship, and intellectual discourse. The festival served as a crucial platform, connecting writers, poets, and intellectuals to engage in stimulating discussions on a wide range of topics, including literature, history, and contemporary issues.
This year’s festival emphasized the power of literature as a tool for fostering harmony, inclusivity, and mutual understanding among diverse communities. It also successfully inspired students and book lovers to actively participate in literary discussions and creative activities.
Event organizer Dr. Abdur Rauf extended a vote of thanks to event managers and participants, noting that the Karak Chapter featured a diverse program, including three keynote addresses, twenty parallel sessions, a Mushaira (poetry recital), and a three-day book fair held at the Government Postgraduate College, Karak. “These events provided ample opportunities for attendees to engage with literature and interact with prominent literary figures,” Dr. Rauf added.
During the closing ceremony, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naseer Ud Din, Registrar Dr. Ghani Ur Rehman, and other distinguished guests distributed shields and certificates of appreciation to the faculty and student organizers in recognition of their contributions to the festival’s success.
