In rural areas, women work tirelessly in agriculture, contributing to farming and livestock, which are critical to Pakistan’s food security. In urban settings, they excel as educators, healthcare professionals, engineers, and entrepreneurs. Inspirational figures like Shazia Syed and Fiza Farhan have shown how women can lead in male-dominated industries, inspiring others to follow.
Efforts such as the Ehsaas Program and microfinance schemes have empowered women to launch businesses and support their families. Even organizations like J. are fostering inclusivity by giving women leadership roles, showcasing the potential of an empowered workforce.
However, challenges remain. With only 22% of women in the labor force, Pakistan is missing out on untapped potential that could significantly boost its GDP. Addressing this requires education, skill development, and supportive policies to create equal opportunities.
Empowering women is not just about equality; it’s about ensuring a brighter future for Pakistan. When women thrive, the entire nation prospers, making their role in economic growth indispensable.
