Tel Aviv (Agencies): General Michael “Erik” Kurilla, Commander of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), arrived in Israel on Wednesday for a series of high-level meetings with Israel’s military leadership.
During his visit, General Kurilla is scheduled to meet with Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, Chief of the General Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, and other key members of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and national security agencies.
The discussions are expected to focus on shared security concerns, particularly in the southern and northern arenas of Israel, as well as broader regional security challenges. General Kurilla emphasized the strategic opportunities inherent in the close U.S.-Israel military partnership and the importance of enhancing defense and technological cooperation to strengthen Israel’s security and deter regional threats.
The visit underscores the strong and enduring military ties between the United States and Israel, aimed at ensuring regional stability and supporting Israel’s defense capabilities.
