Baku (Agencies): A fire has erupted at a SOCAR oil facility in the Surakhani district of Baku, leading to significant disruptions and emergency responses. Traffic restrictions have been imposed on A. Rzayev Street and the Zigh Highway towards the airport to facilitate emergency operations.
Experts from the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources are actively monitoring the situation. Behruz Mahammadov, an official from the State Environmental Security Service, reported that specialists are collecting air samples to assess pollution levels caused by the black smoke.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) has successfully contained the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby residential areas. Three emergency medical teams are on-site, with one person receiving medical assistance so far.
