Dear Editor,

I am writing to express the deep concern and sadness of many Karachi residents about the frequent and tragic accidents involving water tankers. It feels like every other day, we hear of someone being killed or seriously injured by these large vehicles. The recent death of a husband, his pregnant wife, and their unborn child has shocked and saddened our community.

It’s heartbreaking and unacceptable that these accidents continue to happen. We feel that no one is taking responsibility. The government has remained silent, and we see no action being taken to prevent these tragedies.

These are not mere “accidents”; they are the direct result of systemic failures and a complete lack of accountability.

Where is the government? Their silence shows they don’t care. Do they think our lives don’t matter? Their lack of action is a betrayal.

Where are the courts? Who will punish these dangerous drivers and truck owners? Without quick justice, this killing will continue

We demand answers. We demand action. We demand that the government and the judiciary wake from their slumber and address this crisis with the urgency it deserves. We deserve safe roads and a government that protects its citizens.

Sincerely

Ayesha Ahmed
