Dear Editor,

This past Sunday, thousands of aspiring medical students across Pakistan participated in the retake of the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MD-CAT). This crucial step reflects the government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring transparency and merit-based admissions in the medical and dental fields.

The decision to conduct a retake came after the first MD-CAT was marred by reports of cheating and irregularities. By canceling the results and ordering a fresh examination, authorities sent a strong message that entry into medical and dental colleges would be determined solely on merit.

The retake was conducted under stringent security protocols. Students and invigilators were thoroughly screened, and the exam questions were carefully designed to test students’ knowledge, skills, and aptitude for the medical field. Such measures aimed to create a fair playing field for all candidates, ensuring only the most deserving students earn their places in medical colleges.

A special acknowledgment is due to the Vice Chancellor of Sukkur IBA University, the entire SIBA Testing Service team, and all those who stood firm against powerful mafias. Their relentless dedication to upholding merit, quality, and excellence is commendable and deserves the nation’s gratitude.

The MD-CAT retake was more than just an examination. It was a demonstration of the values of merit, transparency, and fairness. It highlighted how future doctors and dentists of Pakistan should be chosen—not through influence or shortcuts but through hard work, talent, and dedication.
