Islamabad (Khyber Mail): PML-N Information Secretary Marriyum Aurangzeb has announced that party supremo Nawaz Sharif has nominated party president Shehbaz Sharif for the post of the country’s prime minister. In addition, PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz has been nominated for the post of Punjab’s chief minister.
According to Aurangzeb, Nawaz Sharif believes he can best support both Shehbaz and Maryam by assisting them from behind and overseeing party affairs. This comes as committees are being formed in every political party about the power-sharing setup in any future government.
Meanwhile, PPP co-chairperson Asif Ali Zardari has called for reconciliation in the current political situation, stating that the PTI should also be included in the process. He emphasized the need for a common economic and defense agenda and urged all political forces to come forward for dialogue.
In related news, the PTI has decided to form a coalition in the Centre and Punjab with the Majlis Wahdat-i-Muslimeen (MWM) as per the instructions of party founder Imran Khan. The party’s Central Information Secretary, Raoof Hasan, announced this decision during a press conference in Islamabad. Hasan relayed that Imran, who is currently incarcerated in Adiala Jail, has also approved a coalition with the Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) in KP for the reserved seats.
These developments mark a significant shift in Pakistan’s political landscape as the nation navigates its way towards forming a new government.
