Karak (Khyber Mail): The 4th Dosti Peshawar Literature Festival (DPLF) 2025 commenced its Karak Chapter today at Khushal Khan Khattak University (KKKUK) Karak’s old campus. The four-day event, from February 18th to 21st, promises a vibrant celebration of literature, poetry, and the arts, fostering harmony, friendship, and intellectual discourse.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by Additional Deputy Commissioner Shahid Rafiq Gandapur as the chief guest. He lauded KKKUK’s efforts in organizing such an event of national repute. Professor Nimat Ullah delivered the welcome address, setting the stage for the festival’s diverse program. Distinguished guests Dr. Arif Khattak and Muhammad Arif Khattak, among others, were also present. The event saw enthusiastic participation from civil society, faculty members, administrative officers, staff, students, and community representatives.
While addressing the occasion, Professor Arif Khattak highlighted the significance and power of literature, citing different and distinct events in world history.
The festival aims to utilize literature as a powerful medium to promote harmony, inclusivity, and mutual understanding among diverse communities. In his welcome address, Professor Nimatullah explained that this year’s Karak Chapter offers a rich program, including three keynote addresses, 20 parallel sessions covering a wide range of literary topics, a Mushaira showcasing local and regional poetic talent, and a three-day book fair to be held at the Government Postgraduate College, Karak. The book fair will provide attendees with access to a diverse selection of books and literary resources.
