Peshawar (Khyber Mail): In a series of decisive operations conducted in North Waziristan District (NWD) from April 25 to April 28, 2025, security forces successfully neutralized a total of 71 militants, referred to as “khwarij,” along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. These operations underscore the unwavering commitment of Pakistan’s armed forces to safeguard the nation’s peace and stability.

The operations began with engagements from April 25 to 27, during which 54 militants were eliminated. On the night of April 27/28, a deliberate sanitization operation was carried out in the Hassan Khel area, resulting in the neutralization of an additional 17 militants. These individuals were reportedly operating under the directives of foreign handlers, with intelligence suggesting links to foreign interests. A significant cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was also recovered during the operation.

The military highlighted the exceptional professionalism and vigilance of the security forces. The operations are being hailed as a major blow to terrorist networks attempting to destabilize the region. The armed forces reaffirmed their resolve to thwart any attempts to sabotage Pakistan’s progress and stability.
