Kohat (Khyber Mail): Amaan Khan Bangash Advocate has been elected as the new President of the District Bar Association (DBA) Kohat for the term 2025–26, following closely contested annual elections held in the Bar Room of Kohat. Bangash secured 170 votes, narrowly defeating former president Dr. Amir Ajam Advocate, who received 168 votes.

The elections were conducted under the supervision of Malik Muhammad Ishaq, assisted by Malik Mohtasham Advocate and Ishtiaq-ur-Rehman Khattak Advocate. Polling began at 9:00 AM and concluded at 4:00 PM in a peaceful and well-organized environment.

In other key results, Syed Basit Ali Shah Advocate was elected as Vice President with 211 votes, defeating Majid Bukhari Advocate, who secured 121 votes. Mudassar Khattak Advocate emerged victorious as General Secretary with 147 votes.

Several candidates were elected unopposed, including Farid Khan Bangash Advocate as Joint Secretary, Fehmida Naz Advocate as Secretary Finance, Bilal Daraz Khattak Advocate as Press Secretary, and Mian Amir Waqas Afridi as Executive Member.

Following the announcement of results, the newly elected office bearers congratulated one another and expressed their commitment to working collaboratively for the welfare of the legal fraternity. They pledged to prioritize the resolution of professional challenges faced by the legal community and to strengthen the functioning of the bar association.
