ISLAMABAD (Agencies): Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, expressed optimism about deepening strategic cooperation between China and Pakistan, highlighting the significant mutual benefits of their partnership. Speaking at the inauguration of the “Esthetic Bridge” exhibition at the Silkroad Culture Center, the ambassador emphasized the importance of promoting cultural exchange and mutual understanding between Chinese and Islamic civilizations.
Marking Pakistan’s National Day, Jiang Zaidong congratulated the nation and reaffirmed the unwavering friendship between the two countries. He traced the historical ties back to 1951 when Pakistan became the first Islamic nation to recognize the People’s Republic of China, and he highlighted milestones such as the Karakoram Highway construction and mutual support during times of natural disasters.
The ambassador praised the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) for its transformative role in Pakistan’s development over the past 11 years and described the current phase as an “upgraded version” of the initiative. He commended Pakistan’s recent economic reforms and projected robust growth for the country’s future.
Reflecting on the close relationship between the nations’ leadership, Jiang Zaidong noted high-level visits and cooperative efforts under the guidance of President Xi Jinping’s global civilization initiative. He emphasized the shared vision of creating a brighter future through enhanced cooperation and cultural exchange, underscoring the enduring “ironclad friendship” between China and Pakistan.
