Islamabad (Khyber Mail): The Centre for International Strategic Studies (CISS) AJK and the National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on March 27, 2025, at NIMA’s Head Office in Bahria University, Islamabad. The agreement aims to enhance academic collaboration, foster research activities, and promote high-quality studies in strategic and maritime affairs.

The MoU was formally signed by Vice Admiral (Retd.) Ahmed Saeed HI(M), President of NIMA, and Dr. Asma Shakir Khawaja, Executive Director of CISS-AJK. During the signing ceremony, Vice Admiral Ahmed Saeed welcomed the CISS delegation and emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between the two think tanks to advance research and policy discussions on Pakistan’s maritime and strategic issues.

Dr. Asma Shakir Khawaja highlighted that the partnership would play a crucial role in engaging Pakistan’s youth through educational initiatives, research programs, and awareness campaigns. The agreement will also facilitate joint efforts on maritime affairs, including policy development and academic exchange programs.

This collaboration marks a significant step in bridging expertise between strategic and maritime research institutions, contributing to Pakistan’s broader academic and policy landscape.
