Islamabad (Adnan Hameed): The 80th anniversary of Independence Day of Belarus was commemorated in Islamabad with a significant event. The ceremony began with the national anthems of Belarus and Pakistan, symbolizing the strong diplomatic ties and mutual respect between the two nations.

Federal Minister for Industries and Production Division, Rana Tanveer Hussain, emphasized the significance of Belarus’s Independence Day, symbolizing the strength and resilience of the Belarusian people in their journey towards sovereignty.

Speaking on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day of Belarus, alongside the visiting Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Sergey Lukashevich, and the Ambassador of Belarus, Mr. Andrei Metelitsa, the Minister highlighted the rich history and cultural heritage of Belarus and its commitment to peace, progress, and prosperity.

Rana Tanveer Hussain noted that on this joyous occasion, Pakistan joins Belarus in celebrating this momentous milestone, reflecting on the achievements and aspirations that unite the two nations in solidarity and friendship. On behalf of the Government and the people of Pakistan, he extended warm congratulations to the visiting First Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr. Lukashevich, Ambassador Metelitsa, and the friendly people of Belarus.

This year holds special significance as it marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Belarus. Over these three decades, bilateral relations have grown, marked by mutual respect, cooperation, and shared interests in various fields. The minister mentioned the privilege of hosting the 6th round of bilateral political consultations in Islamabad, which reaffirmed the commitment to further enhancing cooperation in multifaceted fields, laying the foundation for deeper engagement and understanding between the two nations.

Rana Tanveer expressed confidence in the continued growth of friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and Belarus, highlighting the immense potential to expand collaboration in trade, investment, technology, and people-to-people exchanges. He envisioned new opportunities for mutual benefit, underscoring the importance of building bridges of understanding and cooperation between the two nations.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Sergey Lukashevich, expressed gratitude to all those present at the event and conveyed a message of friendship and love to Pakistanis on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Belarus. Ambassador Andrei Metelitsa reiterated that this milestone is an opportunity to bring the two countries closer economically and diplomatically.

The event concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, celebrating the Independence Day of Belarus at a local hotel in Islamabad.
