Peshawar (Khyber Mail): The Directorate General of Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has announced a series of thrilling floodlights tournaments across the province during the holy month of Ramadan, continuing its tradition of promoting sports and community engagement.
A major highlight of the events will be the floodlights cricket tournament at Bisaki Ground, Dera Ismail Khan, where Member National Assembly Faisal Amin Khan Gandapur and Mayor Umar Amin Khan Gandapur will officiate the opening ceremony.
Peshawar will host another exciting floodlights cricket tournament at Hayatabad Sports Complex, starting on March 12. The competition will feature 24 of Peshawar’s top teams, with the final scheduled for March 25. The opening ceremony will be attended by Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Syed Fakhar Jihan, Sports Secretary Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, and Director General of Sports Abdul Nasir Khan.
In Buner district, cricket enthusiasts can look forward to another floodlights tournament at College Ground, kicking off on March 8, with Provincial Minister for Sports Syed Fakhar Jihan as the chief guest.
Additionally, football fans will witness a floodlights football tournament at Tehmas Khan Football Stadium in Peshawar, starting on March 13. The tournament’s opening ceremony will be attended by key provincial sports officials, with the final match set for March 20.
These tournaments aim to provide exciting sporting action for athletes and spectators alike, fostering a spirit of competition and community engagement throughout the province during Ramadan.
