Islamabad (Khyber Mail): Headstart School joined hands with Shifa International Hospital to commemorate World Autism Day through an inspiring awareness session held at the hospital’s CO Hall. The event aimed to foster greater understanding and inclusivity for individuals on the autism spectrum.

A highlight of the session was the participation of Emaan Zainab Hashmi, a Grade 9 (MYP4) student from Headstart Kuri Campus, who eloquently shared her views on the importance of autism awareness. Another notable speaker was Ms. Nadine Murtaza, who, as both a mother and a teacher, offered heartfelt insights into supporting children on the spectrum and emphasized the positive impact inclusive classrooms have on neurotypical students, nurturing empathy, awareness, and responsibility.

The session featured impactful presentations, including those from medical professionals pioneering autism services at Shifa International Hospital. Parents, educators, and specialists collectively enriched the discussion with their experiences, emphasizing the importance of a collaborative approach to inclusion and support for differently-abled individuals.
