Peshawar (Khyber Mail): Ahmed Hassan Al-Mousa, Country Manager of the Physical Rehabilitation Program at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), visited the Paraplegic Center Peshawar (PCP) along with his team to discuss strengthening mutual cooperation and enhancing rehabilitation services for persons with disabilities (PWDs).

During the visit, Al-Mousa met with the center’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Syed Muhammad Ilyas, along with Director Rehabilitation Dr. Amir Zaib and Senior Physical Therapist Dr. Gohar Rehman. The delegation was given a comprehensive briefing on the center’s various departments, patient rehabilitation processes, and the challenges faced in providing medical and rehabilitation services.

The discussions focused on fostering collaboration between the ICRC and the Paraplegic Center to deliver modern and high-quality rehabilitation services. Al-Mousa commended the center’s commitment to improving the lives of PWDs, acknowledging its role in helping individuals regain independence. He assured the center of the ICRC’s continued financial and technical support to enhance rehabilitation outcomes.

Dr. Syed Muhammad Ilyas expressed gratitude for the ICRC’s longstanding support, particularly in providing costly materials essential for manufacturing assistive devices. He highlighted that thousands of PWDs and their families benefit from these devices, which significantly improve their quality of life.

Both sides agreed to work together on future initiatives aimed at expanding and improving rehabilitation services for PWDs in the region.
