Haripur (Shahid Ali Tareen): The Al-Ghazali Central Library at the University of Haripur celebrated the inauguration of the Qatil Shafai Corner in a special event to pay homage to the renowned poet Qatil Shafai. Alongside this, the university also launched the book “Ainah Dur-i Mohabbate,” which highlights the literary contributions of Qatil Shafai, published by the University of Haripur.



The event, held at the Al-Ghazali Central Library, was attended by prominent poets, writers, researchers, and media representatives. The president of the event was the eminent poet Mr. Murtaza Barlas, who captivated the audience with his impressive poetry and evoked memories of Qatil Shafai. His heartfelt speech received a standing ovation from the attendees.
Notably, Naveed Qatil and his family traveled from Lahore to participate, while the famous poet Mr. Javed Iqbal Afgar played a significant role in the publication of the book. Other distinguished guests included Mr. Huwan Usman of Radio Pakistan Abbottabad, Mr. Muhammad Sabrin, media personnel, and Mr. Shahid Awan. Dr. Ejaz Hasan Khattak, Vice Chancellor of Gandhara University Peshawar, also graced the event with his presence.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Haripur, Prof. Dr. Shafiqur Rehman, warmly welcomed the participants and expressed that Qatil Shafai is the pride of Haripur. He assured that the university would continue its efforts to promote Urdu literature. He also commended the efforts of librarian Mr. Mohammad Kashif Khan and poet Javed Iqbal Afgar in organizing the event.
The academic and literary event featured various speakers who shared their views and paid tribute to the literary contributions of Qatil Shafai. The speakers highlighted his impact on Urdu literature and emphasized the importance of preserving literary heritage.
