PESHAWAR (Khyber Mail): On July 12, 2024, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment & Trade (KP-BOIT) had the honor of hosting His Excellency Rahmat Hindiarta Kusuma, the Ambassador of Indonesia. Engr. Said Mahmood, Vice Chairman of KP-BOIT, welcomed the Ambassador with a bouquet, a traditional Khyber Pakhtunkhwa pagri, and a souvenir.

Director of Business Facilitation, Mr. Iqbal Sarwar, provided an in-depth presentation on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s vision, mission, and the role of KP-BOIT, highlighting potential sectors for joint collaboration. KP-BOIT extended an invitation to the Indonesian business community, through His Excellency, to invest in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, emphasizing the region’s strategic access to Afghanistan, Central Asia, and China. Additionally, the Director invited the Ambassador and Indonesian businesses to attend the KP-BOIT International Investment & Trade Expo in Islamabad, scheduled for September 2024.

This visit marks a significant milestone in the growing relationship between Indonesia and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region, ushering in a new era of economic cooperation and mutual prosperity.

In his address, the Vice Chairman of KP-BOIT highlighted the strategic advantages of investing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including its rich natural resources, skilled workforce, and investor-friendly policies. He expressed a keen interest in leveraging Indonesia’s expertise in various industries to foster sustainable development in the region.

The Ambassador reciprocated with words of encouragement and support, emphasizing Indonesia’s commitment to strengthening economic ties with Pakistan, particularly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He praised KP-BOIT’s efforts in creating a conducive environment for foreign investment and assured continuous cooperation in achieving shared goals. The Ambassador also shared insights into the Indonesian market and its development through a detailed documentary and presentation, showcasing Indonesia’s strong and stable economy and infrastructure. He invited the business community, through KP-BOIT, to attend the 39th Trade Expo Indonesia in October 2024. The Vice Chairman assured full support and cooperation in this regard.

KP-BOIT expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Ambassador for his visit and looks forward to a fruitful partnership that will benefit both regions. The Board remains committed to driving investment and trade, fostering an era of progress and collaboration.
