KARAK (Khyber Mail): In a major move to combat terrorism and bolster security in the region, District Police Officer (DPO) Karak, Shehbaz Elahi, directed a comprehensive search-and-strike operation in the rugged mountainous areas of Bahadurkhel. The operation focused on dismantling terrorist hideouts and ensuring safety for the local community.
Key areas targeted during the operation included Tangi Dog, Neki Pal, and surrounding mountain ranges, acting on reliable intelligence reports. The operation was led by DSP Banda Daud Shah and executed with full coordination between specialized police units, such as the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), Al-Buraq Force, Rapid Response Force, Elite Commandos, Rescue 15 Squad, and local police forces.
Tactical measures were employed during the operation, including the use of advanced weaponry, rocket launchers, armored personnel carriers (APCs), and police mobiles. Drones provided aerial surveillance, while ground forces conducted phased search operations to secure the area. Defensive stone bunkers and obstacles set up by terrorists at higher elevations were successfully cleared.
The operation highlights the commitment of law enforcement agencies to counter terrorism and safeguard peace in Karak and its surrounding areas.
