PESHAWAR (Agencies): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced an initiative to raise awareness about artificial intelligence (AI) among its students. The Higher Education Department of KP has formed a four-member committee to develop an awareness plan, with an official notification issued in this regard.
The committee, led by Professor Dr. Shafiq Ur Rehman, Advisor to the Quality Assurance Cell of the Higher Education Department, will formulate a plan to increase AI awareness in both public and private universities and colleges. Official sources informed that the committee will work diligently to ensure that students in KP are educated about the significance of AI.
Provincial Minister for Higher Education, Meena Khan Afridi, emphasized the importance of AI in various fields worldwide and the need for students in KP to be aware of its relevance. She further stressed that the committee must submit its recommendations and awareness plan within a week, after which an implementation strategy will be developed based on their suggestions.
The initiative aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to thrive in an increasingly AI-driven world, ensuring that they are well-prepared for future opportunities and challenges.
