PESHAWAR (Khyber Mail): The Minister for Higher Education of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Meena Khan, inaugurated the State-of-the-Art Student Service Center at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar.
This newly established center serves as a one-stop solution equipped with modern technology to assist students in various academic matters, including transcripts, course registration, and degree clearance.
During the inauguration, Prof. Dr. Qaisar Ali, the Vice Chancellor of UET Peshawar, welcomed the Minister and shared his vision for prioritizing student needs. The Student Service Center (SSC) aims to reduce wait times through efficient technology and well-trained staff. Deans, senior faculty, and administration members were also present to witness this significant milestone.
Meena Khan emphasized the importance of promoting engineering education and extending support to students in remote areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. She commended the efforts of Prof. Dr. Qaisar Ali and his team for establishing a center that addresses student issues using modern technology. This initiative aligns with the university’s broader vision of creating a vibrant educational environment that prepares youth to become future leaders.
In discussions with the media, the Minister assured that the Government of KP will soon share a sustainable financial model for universities, aiming to alleviate financial challenges. She also stressed the need to maintain high standards of engineering education based on market demand. Meena Khan praised UET Peshawar’s extensive research portfolio and international collaborations, emphasizing the importance of quality research in a research-based university.
Later, the Vice Chancellor presented an overview of UET Peshawar’s activities, research initiatives, and financial considerations.
