ISLAMABAD (Agencies): Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Police Lines early Saturday to commend the Islamabad Police and bolster their morale as the federal capital gears up for a high-profile delegation from Belarus, followed by the Belarusian President’s visit on November 25.
Addressing the officers, the minister lauded their unwavering dedication to maintaining law and order, emphasizing the critical need for heightened security measures during the upcoming visits. “We must ensure the safety of Islamabad at all costs,” Naqvi stated, urging the police to work as a cohesive team to protect the city.
Issuing a stern warning against potential disruptions, he declared, “Anyone taking the law into their hands will not walk away this time.” He also stressed the importance of officer safety, instructing personnel to wear helmets and protective gear while on duty. “Your lives are precious to us,” he said, pledging full support to the force.
The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to upholding law and order, assuring that no effort would be spared in ensuring the capital’s peace and security. Senior officials, including the Inspector General of Islamabad Police, the Chief Commissioner, and the DIG, joined the minister alongside a large contingent of police officers.
The visit underscores the government’s resolve to maintain peace during significant diplomatic events and highlights its focus on prioritizing officer welfare and operational readiness.
