ISLAMABAD (Agencies): The National Transmission and Despatch Company Limited (NTDC) has successfully added a 220/132kV, 250 MVA auto-transformer (T-4) and a 220 kV half Dia D-4 & 132kV transformer bay E-13 at the 220kV Grid Station Rohri. The auto-transformer has been energized post-installation, according to a statement issued by NTDC.
This project is part of a power transmission capacity enhancement program aimed at improving the capacity of the NTDC transmission network. The work has been completed under the National Transmission Modernization Project (NTMP-I), funded by the World Bank and NTDC’s own resources.
The completion of this component of NTMP-I will benefit domestic, agricultural, and industrial consumers in the SEPCO region. The addition of the auto-transformer will improve the loading capacity of the 220 kV grid station Rohri, providing relief to areas under the SEPCO region.
The enhanced capacity of the grid station Rohri will ensure a smooth power supply to these areas during the peak summer season, marking a significant step towards ensuring reliable and efficient power transmission in the region.
