Islamabad (Agencies): In a meeting focused on COP29 preparations, Pakistan’s Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Climate Change, Romina Khurshid Alam, and Azerbaijan’s Ambassador Khazar Farhadov discussed strategies for climate resilience and cooperation. Alam emphasized Pakistan’s dedication to COP29, aiming to secure international backing for emission reduction targets and sustainable energy initiatives. Highlighting Pakistan’s advances in solar and wind energy, Alam stressed the need for developed countries to fulfill climate finance commitments. Ambassador Farhadov voiced Azerbaijan’s support, pledging enhanced collaboration with Pakistan to address shared climate challenges, including sustainable development and regional cooperation.

Both sides committed to a united front at COP29, working to amplify their stance on climate resilience, emphasizing bilateral progress in energy transition, and exploring regional climate solutions.
