PESHAWAR (Nadir Khan): A two-week statutory training program on leadership and management for newly promoted District and Sessions Judges/Zilla Qazis commenced at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Judicial Academy (KPJA) on Tuesday. The initiative aims to enhance judicial leadership and administrative capabilities within the district judiciary.

The inaugural ceremony was graced by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Syed Muhammad Attique Shah, Chief Justice of the Peshawar High Court, who served as the Chief Guest. Other key figures present included Mr. Jehanzeb Shinwari, Director General KPJA, Mr. Zia Ur Rahman, Dean of Faculty, Mr. Dost Muhammad Khan, Senior Director Administration, Dr. Qazi Ataullah, Senior Director Research & Publication, along with directors and officials of the academy.

In his address, Chief Justice Attique Shah congratulated the recently promoted judges and emphasized their pivotal role in the justice system. He urged them to uphold the principles of justice with unwavering faith in Allah (SWT), and to remain vigilant in addressing case delays—highlighting the importance of judicial independence in ensuring swift and affordable justice for the public.

Justice Shah also shared insights from his own professional journey, encouraging the judges to remain committed to excellence and integrity in their judicial duties.

Welcoming the participants, Director General Jehanzeb Shinwari thanked the Chief Justice for his presence and support. He elaborated on the objectives and structure of the training program, stating that the curriculum is not limited to basic concepts, but is designed to refine and enhance the existing knowledge and skills of the participants for improved performance.

The training is part of the KPJA’s continued efforts to strengthen the judiciary’s capacity through targeted professional development programs.
