Peshawar (Khyber Mail): The Department of Civil Engineering at UET Peshawar, in collaboration with the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) and the Let’s Help Welfare Society (LHWS), UET Peshawar, organized a one-day seminar on “The Role of Engineers in Providing Safe and Sustainable Solutions.” The event was supervised by Dr. Shahid Ullah and Prof. Dr. Khan Shahzada.
The seminar featured guest speaker Engr. Naeem Ahmad Subhani, CEO of Safe T Consult (STC) and an alumnus of UET Peshawar. With over thirty years of experience in sustainable operations across various industries, Engr. Subhani shared his insights on the critical aspects of sustainability in the construction industry and its impact on the environment and communities. His presentation emphasized the crucial role of engineers in planning, designing, and building sustainable structures while integrating safety measures into construction practices.
Prof. Dr. Amjad Naseer, Chairman of the Department of Civil Engineering, UET Peshawar, highlighted that the seminar is part of a weekly series aimed at educating students on the latest practices in the field. He stated that such events bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world industry standards, empowering students to tackle the challenges they will face in their professional careers. Through these sessions, students gain valuable insights from industry experts, enhancing their knowledge and skills in areas such as sustainability, safety, and advanced engineering techniques.
A large number of students, professionals, and faculty attended the seminar, underscoring the importance of such educational initiatives in shaping future engineers.
