Islamabad (Adnan Hameed): Serena Hotels, as part of its Cultural Diplomacy initiative, proudly partnered with the Aga Khan Cultural Service Pakistan, UNESCO, the Aga Khan Foundation, and KOICA to host the enchanting musical evening titled ‘Mystic Melodies.’ The event aimed to spotlight Pakistan’s diverse cultural heritage through the soulful expressions of folk music.
Distinguished dignitaries, diplomats, and influential figures, including the Austrian Ambassador, the Egyptian Ambassador, Federal and Provincial Ministers, corporate representatives, and media professionals, gathered for an unforgettable evening. The vibrant traditions, melodious tunes, and captivating performances showcased the essence of Pakistan’s cultural identity.
Renowned artists such as Hadiqa Kiyani, Irfan Ali Taj, and talented students from the Lief Larsen Music Center, along with students from the School of Disabled Children, took the stage to connect the audience with the heart and soul of Pakistan’s musical heritage. The Leif Larsen Music Centre, founded in 2011 at Altit Fort, played a pivotal role in training youth in the rich traditions and genres of mountain music from Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral.
The chief guest, Mr. Jamal Shah, Minister of National Heritage and Culture, delivered an insightful speech highlighting the significance of such programs in preserving cultural heritage, promoting architectural excellence, and integrating music into the vision of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture.
