Beijing (Agencies): President Asif Ali Zardari arrived in China on Tuesday for a five-day official visit, invited by Chinese President Xi Jinping. Accompanied by a delegation including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Senator Saleem Mandviwala, and Dr Asim Hussain, President Zardari was warmly received by Chinese Finance Minister Lan Fo’an, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Khalil Hashmi, and Ambassador of China in Pakistan Jiang Zaidong at Beijing International Airport.

During his visit, President Zardari will hold meetings with President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and other senior Chinese political leaders. Discussions will focus on matters of mutual interest, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), regional connectivity, and security cooperation. President Zardari will also attend the inaugural ceremony of the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, Heilongjiang province, at the special invitation of the Chinese government.

This visit underscores the strong and enduring Pakistan-China relations, often described as an “All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership.” It aims to enhance bilateral trade and commerce ties, reaffirm mutual support on core interests, and highlight joint commitments to regional peace, development, and stability.
