Moscow (Agencies): In a provocative move, Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued a bold challenge to NATO, inviting them to select a target in Kyiv and concentrate all their air and missile defenses there. Putin has proposed that Russia will then target this location with its advanced Oreshnik missile, claiming that no defense system can intercept it.

During a recent press conference, Putin stated, “Pick a target in Kyiv, concentrate all your air and missile defenses there, and Russia will target it with an Oreshnik missile. We are ready for this experience. No one has a chance to bring down Oreshnik.” This statement has raised eyebrows and concerns among international observers, given the missile’s capabilities.

The Oreshnik missile, which Putin has described as nuclear-capable, has already been used in combat tests, including a strike on Dnipro in Ukraine. The missile is known for its hypersonic speed and advanced maneuverability, making it a formidable challenge for existing defense systems.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy responded to Putin’s proposal, calling it the words of a “mentally unstable person” and emphasizing the seriousness of the threat posed by such a challenge. Zelenskyy highlighted the need for continued international support to counter Russia’s aggressive actions.

This development comes amid ongoing tensions between Russia and NATO, with both sides engaging in a high-stakes game of military posturing. The international community is closely monitoring the situation, as the potential for escalation remains high.
