Jeddah, Saudi Arabia (Agencies): Volunteers, university students, and families have joined forces with government agencies in a two-week initiative to restore Jeddah’s beaches. The “Beach Protection and Restoration” campaign, launched by the Environmental Fund in collaboration with the Lenobadir Volunteer and Community Partnership Program, aims to enhance environmental awareness and preserve coastal areas.

Under the patronage of Jeddah Governor Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, the 14-day campaign focuses on cleaning two of Jeddah’s iconic beaches. Activities are divided into four phases, targeting the western, southern, eastern, and northern coastal zones.

The initiative not only employs advanced AI technology and technical analysis for data collection but also emphasizes the importance of active community participation. Munir bin Fahd Al-Sahli, CEO of the Environmental Fund, highlighted that the project’s success depends on collective efforts.

“This project combines cutting-edge technology with the invaluable enthusiasm of volunteers, making a significant impact on coastal conservation,” Al-Sahli said.

The initiative is open to individuals and families eager to contribute to protecting Saudi Arabia’s coastal environments. It follows the Lenobadir Volunteer and Community Partnership Program’s involvement in the recent Environment Week 2025 exhibition, themed “Our Environment is a Treasure,” organized by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture.

Authorities and organizers hope this campaign will inspire lasting environmental stewardship and foster a deeper connection between the community and its natural surroundings.
